AHH Hey Everyone! YES i am safe and secure here in van city. wow. what a place. we're right off of commercial drive so that means traffic 24/7. just for marges info, about 5-6 ambulences/firetrucks pass by everyday (and i haven't even been there all day before so it may be even more...) BUT no one runs to see what direction its going in. No one even looks up.
today was our second day of orientation and our first day of INTERNET. i don't think any of you..well maybe a few... have any idea how excited i am to be able to let you guys know whats up.
ok but back on track. orientation has been very much like i expected it to be..we have a lot of assignments that we will be doing over the last 3 months. we actually just got our infamous journal assignment and i have Already finished covering the front and back. its actually pretty cool if i do say so myself but when the girls complimented me i had to be honest and say that Melodie armbruster is much further advanced in the entire skill than i am.
we had lunch at the church that is right beside us. we will be doing our classes in the church and eating our meals as well. there are 3 different ministries running out of it and this just began so as you can imagine its been slightly fun trying to organize all of the schdules.
we also got active today...Bucket ball! mmhmm, very fun. i'm just realizing how little activity i've..uhh...actually done. ahem. yes i was sucking wind. but its good. we walk everywhere here. and it doesn't even seem like long because there is just so much to see. i would compare our street to osborne village minus the constant threat (that i feel at least) of being stabbed. its really cool. we have mountains all around us and i just found out that stanley park is like 30 minutes away. we'll have lots of time on the weekends to get out and about so i'm really looking forward to that.
i've been waking up pretty early these days just naturally. i never thought i was a morning person until this morning... hah some of these dear girls looked like they were unable to think until they had tasted a little coffee. little old me had been up for a few hours already. ahh well. i thank lucy.
yeah the people here are great, staff and students. so far i havent found anyone that i cant stand, hah. hopefully that will stay that way.
wel yeah i miss all of you guys so much. thanks for all of your love. i appreciate it so much. *mind hug*

Stanley Park is beautiful. Mom A., Sherwood, the boys, and I also went to the 'Sea World' thing at the park...can't remember what they call it. It is neat. BC is a beauty! My Mom is in Vancouver right now.

Hah, hey everyone. wow, i'm not doing so well with keeping up with the comments. umm hmm
i haven't been able to get to stanley park yet but yeah, the views are awesome all over the city so far.
for ruth: i was at the corner with the two starbucks! i tried to get a picture of them..i dont know if it worked out. but yeah apparently they are the busiest starbucks in the entire world.- fun fact #34
kristen: wow...thats a shocker for sure...huh...well we definately need to talk. lots going on in your life man...i miss you. you have known me for more than 1 week. i miss people who have known me for more than 1 week.
stephanie: just today i was trying to tell aubrey about how weird yet cool you are...but weird. very weird.
mark: starbucks is awesome and i wont be able to resist. there is one that is less than 5 minutes away.

today i dried my clothes at a laundry mat. APPARENTLY simply hanging up your clothes to dry in vancouver doesnt work, i had mine up for two and a half days and it was still just as wet as when it first came out, and it smelt. i had to wash it all over again and then PAY to get dry clothes. booo

oh! and crystal
i had the same "laundry" experience on my DTS. in austrailia we hung our washing as well. and i was there during their winter...which was wet and cold....
things didn't dry too easily and i ended up popping many quarters into a machine in hopes of wearing clean AND DRY clothes again.
:)
oh ywam
oh memories
