Hey everyone! happy thanksgiving!
well today has been a pretty good day. a few girls and i went to a little blue baptist church down the street. its good to see all the different churches and their ways of doing things. after the service we went out looking for a place to eat on the drive and we walked by this shop that just smelt amazing. it was a greek food restaurant, kinda take out. but yeah i got falafel...oh my goodness, i can't even explain how amazing it was. the man that was putting our dishes together did it as though he were a master chef... you know those places that are just generous? like, do you want some of this with it? some of that? and then they pile it on, with no 50 cent charge? we came home to eat and i almost melted. i couldn't even finish it all although i desperately wanted to keep eating. it was so beautiful. i even took a picture. after lunch i worked a bit on some homework because if you know me at all you know that...well i will probably always have a lot i can do. sam came over (he is one of the guys doing the outreach). he's from south korea and yesterday he asked me to read the bible out loud for him because its easier for him to understand then reading. he wanted to record me so we did that for a while. it was interesting trying to find a quiet place in the house...i even had to unplug the phone. jamie came over and we went out for gelato (sam bought me mine to thank me). i love the drive...just so much to do. anyhow, right now i'm just taking it easy. i thought i would update you all.
this past week has been really good...a lot of learning. we focused on hearing the voice of God and i can already see how much it has changed even just our everyday conversation...we expect to hear God and what he has to say about everything in our lives. its just been awesome. there have been a few things going on in the group..a little bit of drama but i guess drama just follows people; where there are two or more there is God and drama. so we're dealing. its been good.
i'm going to be going to malaysia for my outeach. i know near to nothing about the country as of yet, but someday i will tell you about it. :) i really like my team...i really feel good about knowing who is in each team at the beginning instead of a week before we leave. i guess it helps for what to expect...i could see a lot of people being very disappointed if they weren't with their best friends after all this. this way they know that the people they really connect with might not be going with them.
well i love all you guys. thank you so much for all of your letters and prayers and thoughts. you're awesome!

joc
and EXCUSE ME...and no comment. or i mean, no MORE comment.
oh tony...i'm so glad you dropped by. i'm working on that skating thing. i mean...well trying to think maybe about working on it at some point in my life. but yeah.
ruth, i'm sorry; after all you are famous in the blogging world. i really need to respect that. i'm sorry.
marge, consider yourself lucky. some other unfortunates have simple become hardhearted.
steph, i am sorry yet again. you after all are the lone letter sender to me this week. thanks for that. i love the pictures.
To all: our speakers last name is neufeld and i went out on a limb to ask him if he knew a certain niverville manitoba. he IN FACT has met a certain roger armbruster. i didn't get to speak with him after that, but believe me i will! AHH its a small world after alll....manitoba seems so close some days. other times everyone just makes fun of me from comming from the apparently most unfortunate province of the country "isn't that where those mosquitos are like birds? and its so cold in the winter? and there's nothing to do? hah manitoba SUCKS"
i'm trying my best to defend.
sigh.
i think my wounded heart is beginning to mend. :)
:P~~~~
glad you are doing sooo well out there crystal. did you get shi fry's picture in the mail?
Just to assure you that you are not forgotten at all, Crystal, but remembered with fond and blessed memories always. Roger
ahh joc thats so cute! i'm glad he hasn't forgotten me.
thanks roger :) i wonder, do you remember meeting a don and gwen neufeld? don is in charge of books and resources out here. he said that he had met you but you probably wouldn't remember him. he led this week of lectures.
It is wonderful to be able to stay in touch in this way.
Off hand, I don't remember this Don Neufeld, but may be if I heard a few more details about him, he may come to mind. Send him my love.
Blessings always,
Roger :>)
I guess I didn't make much of an impression, Rog-gy. I was your teacher. (Just Kiddin')
Perhaps this picture will refresh your memory:

Whatcha talkin bout - this 60th Birthday!? It was the 31st anniversary of my 29th birthday!!
Don N, can't say that I remember, but you remind me so much of my son Sherwood. Are we perhaps related?
Hi, Crystal,
Do you know, yet, when you are leaving for your Malaysia assignment?
I just KNOW you will love that part of the world, and the people, too.
I'm a bit envious, actually! :)
Jerry from West Virginia
